Have you been trying to start a morning mindset practice, but keep giving up? You journal for a few days, but end up falling off the wagon because it’s too complicated, or you feel like you don’t know what to do? My Mindful Journal and Coloring Book can help you to develop the habit over the course of one month.

With 30 daily 4-page spreads including simple prompts, a blank page, and a coloring page, it sets you up for success in your morning practice. All you need to start is a pen, and a set of colored pencils.

  1. Note the day, date, and weather
  2. Write your affirmation for the day
  3. Journal what’s in your head, and in your heart. Feel free to use any spiritual practice (like a tarot card draw), to help you reflect.
  4. Continue with free journaling if you wish
  5. Use the coloring page for moments of mindfulness in the morning and throughout the day.
  6. At the end of the day, note the things you are grateful for.

It's easy at the start of the year to be thinking It's easy at the start of the year to be thinking about your word, and how it relates to your life. We all start off with a bang! As time passes though, it might get pushed to the side. Here are three ways to keep your word close:

1. Find a quotation that relates to your word, and write it in your journal. You can do this at least once a month.
2. Make a vision board to help you visualise how you will live your word this year.
3. Make a reading list of books to support you all year long.

Save this post to refer back to!

What are some of the ways you keep your word close?

This is nothing like my scrapbooking of old. I'm enjoying using the Canon Ivy mini printer, my minimalist weekly planner, and stickers.

“Lately I am overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff I am bringing in, like scrapbooking or planner kits, and all the content out there. It feels like I don’t get a chance to use or even appreciate a kit, before another one arrives. I am struggling to figure out how to deal with it all”

I hear things like this a lot from creative people. Heck, I used to feel this way too, and sometimes still suffer from chasing after shiny objects. In January especially there are so many new things to consider signing up for.

That’s why I created the Modern Makers  membership program. It helps you to prioritise what you really want to be working on, and to finally put all those supplies and skills to use! It’s based on my personal experience, and shows you how to implement the crafting systems and planning methods that I have developed over the last several years.

If you're ready to jump in, you can join at the link in my profile.

Or first, take some time to reflect on your goals and plans with the free printable Creative Life worksheet.

Current knitting WIPs. 🧶Floodlight Tee by Tanis Current knitting WIPs.
🧶Floodlight Tee by Tanis Fiber Arts - almost done! Just ust need to finish the I-cord edges.
🧶Year Round Popover by Melissa Georges-making good progress on the yoke, will be dividing for sleeves soon!
🧶Mousseux by Espace Tricot-put this down in April last year, and am so glad to get going on it again. Working on the body now.
🧶Minimal Scarf by Ela Torrente - this is my at work project for when I have downtime.

I am trying really hard not to cast on all the things! My queue on Ravelry is quite long, but I am focusing on just a few at a time. I'm not allowed to cast on anything else, until I finish one of these.

What's on your needles right now?
I'm continuing with the same notebook for my craft I'm continuing with the same notebook for my craft projects, and I decided to add a title page for 2023. Went a bit crazy with stickers, and listed the things that I want to work on this year.
